Smithfield Fresh Pork-Parmesan Crusted Pork Chop Recipe

“Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Smithfield® Prime Fresh Pork. The opinions and text are all mine.”

Happy Hump day friends, can you believe this week is almost over, I know I sure can’t and that summer is also halfway over! Where are all my pork lovers out there?! I have a special recipe for all of you! Not a pork lover or questioning eating pork? Let me just tell you this, “Not all pork is created equal!”

Even though fall and winter are my favorite seasons, I must say that I love the food that comes with the summer months. There’s something about having a picnic, seeing clear skies, and of course those yummy and festive bbq parties that I just love! I think my favorite recipes that I love to cook are the ones that end up being fast and easy, because we all know that no one likes to clean a messy kitchen or dishes.

So let me tell about a easier way of cooking that can help you enjoy those beautiful summer days while you’re with family and friends! I headed to my local Dan’s Fresh Market, and I’ve never shopped there and I must say that the experience was one to remember. I was greeted in the store, helped out in the meat section, and even had a friendly employee greet me, my son, and husband at checkout. I was able to find items quickly and loved all the options Smithfield® had for me!

If you are not near a Dan’s Fresh Market, you can also find this at any Associated Food Grocer. Fresh Market, Maceys, & Lins all carry this product

In my today’s recipe I used Smithfield Prime Fresh Pork to make a delicious Parmesan Crusted Pork Chop! This was my very first time ever cooking pork chops, and to be honest I was a little nervous because I have bad luck cooking meat; I don’t know why I just sometimes overcook it or end up under cooking it. But let me just tell you that the meat god’s were in my favor this time around and read through to find out how it came out! First let’s start out with the ingredients you will be needing.

Ingredients:
  • 4 Smithfield Prime Fresh Pork Chops
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (you can use vegetable oil)
  • 2-3 tbsp Italian Breadcrumbs
  • ⅓ Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • ⅛ paprika
  • ⅛ basil
  • Salt and pepper to your taste

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Take out a medium frying pan or skillet and on medium heat pour your olive oil and allow it to heat until you see smoke rising. In a separate mixing bowl mix together what will become your crust for your pork chops, which will be garlic powder, Italian bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, paprika, basil, and salt and pepper.

Mix ingredients together. Take pork chops out of packaging and dip each piece into your crust mix, if you think your crust isn’t sticking to your pork feel free to smear some water or oil on it. Once pan is hot and ready, add your pork, making sure you let it sear on both sides for a total of 3 minutes. You should see that your pork is starting to turn golden brown, so that all those yummy juices soak in your meat.

Hoping your oven is ready to go, using a small deep dish place your pork chops in it for a total of 30 minutes, but also note that it  depends on how thick your pork chops are.It can take longer for thicker pieces. So let’s bring back the meat gods haha, you guys they turned out perfectly, juicy, and delicious!! We ended up eating with family and left the curtains open, letting the beautiful sunset colors fill the home. It truly was a miracle that they came out so perfectly, I mean no shocker there to such a great meat brand! I’m excited for you all to try this and please let me know in the comments if you do!
