10 Pregnancy Essentials for any trimester!

Can you believe there's 3 weeks left or less until baby girl arrives! This pregnancy has flown by faster than when I was pregnant with Mason. I mean maybe having a busy toddler has helped but I just can't wrap my head around that we meet her in less than three weeks! I have seen many post about their favorite pregnancy favorites and so I thought why not join in and tell you my personal pregnancy favorites, that I've used with my first pregnancy or just started using with this pregnancy. So here you are, a list of my pregnancy must-haves for ANY trimester!

1. House Dress- First off why I haven't I discovered this amazing pieces of clothing before?! It truly is one of my favorite items I have in my wardrobe because of the many uses it has! I have 5 house dresses and don't plan on stopping! You can them at a variety of shops like Nesting Olive , Lates by Kate (which is what I will be wearing in the hospital) , Dwell and Slumber , Lounge and Liv , Undercover Mama (Use link:House Dress Link )
These dresses are bump friendly, nursing friendly, and you can even wear them out of the house! I wear mine all the time!

2. Maternity Leggings- This is a staple in my wardrobe especially because my pregnancy has been mostly in the cold season. But I love my maternity leggings. First off always I mean always go for the pair that go over your belly, because then you don't have to worry about them falling down and having to constantly pull them up, and they work with your growing belly too! I know many who always wear maternity leggings in the summer and it honestly works great for any season!

3. Stretch Mark Cream-  I'm still on a mission to find the most effective stretch mark cream, but so far the one that has shown some difference would be the Burt's Bee's Cream and the Palmer's Cocoa Stretch Mark Cream. Not only does this help prevent and reduce the sign of stretch mark's (if you keep up with it) but also keeps your skin moisturized and lessens itchy skin that comes with pregnancy.

4. Water bottle- I'll admit I don't drink as much water as I need to especially in the last trimester, none there less it's so important to drink water! Drinking water is important for you and baby so this item is a must to have!

5. Prenatal Medicine/Tums- You've probably been told by your doctor to always take your prenatal vitamins because of the benefits it gives you and baby before, during, and after pregnancy! I like to call it my strength gummy, because of how strong it makes me and will make my baby! Also tums... now this depends if you are unfortunate soul like myself that has acid reflux. It's no joke how much acid reflux has hit me this pregnancy. I take them all the time and they truly do help! Acid reflux can really occur in any trimester so it's really up to your pregnancy when they hit, hense why their good for any trimester. (Ps: I've been told that pickle juice or vinegar help too, but that's just too gross for me)

6. Journal- I have loved looking back at each pregnancy and seeing what happened during a certain time or seeing how this pregnancy and my first are different and even post pregnancy! I think is fun looking back and getting nostalgic! So this is a favorite of mine because of the memories I write and can remind myself and share with others!

7. Fetal Doppler- Now this item isn't necessary but I have loved having mine and wished I had it with mason because of how calm it made me. Some may say that it makes you dependable on it and that's not good but honestly you do what you want. Whenever I would worry about the baby (especially during the first trimester ) or wanted for fun to hear baby's heartbeat I pulled this awesome device and would always be overcome with happiness! I feel like its affordable and a fun machine to have!

8. Comfortable shoes-  I've been the person to not wear appropriate shoes sometimes... as in wearing sandals when it snows or just wearing sandals when I could of worn a shoe that would benefit my feet more. So at the start of this pregnancy, I told myself that having a pair of shoes that were good for my feet was a must! I took out my Nike's (that were gathering dust lol) and after a couple of days I started feeling changes with my feet! As I have progressed in pregnancy I've seen how much I love comfortable shoes and how I've felt compared to last pregnancy! So if you aren't already, invest in some really comfortable shoes and I promise your feet will thank you!

9. Pregnancy Pillow- Trust me when I say that eventually as your tummy grows, it will start to get real uncomfortable! Not only will it be harder to pick things up, tie your shoes, or simply get up.. but it will also be harder to be comfortable when laying down, especially when your sleeping! It's either you can't find a position that's comfortable, your baby's having a dance party, or that your stomach isn't supported enough. So if you don't want to invest in the maternity pillow (that I like using) then gather all your pillows, maybe steal your man's (it's for the baby) and hopefully that will help you get a better night's sleep:)

10. Snack- That's right you always need a snack on hand. Let me tell you whether it's the first trimester and you don't feel like eating, a snack (in my choice a chocolate granola bar was my pick) it always good to have something on hand to get you through until the next big meal. I wish I had carried more snack with me when I was pregnant with mason but this time around I have. Try and choose something with protein or more nutritional value. You will be happy to have that snack on hand:)

Why hello Third Trimester!

Can you believe I'm already in the third trimester?! I know I sure can't! As of today I am 30 weeks and 2 days! 10 weeks left until we meet baby girl and we're all so excited! So last time I updated you all I was at the half way point (20 weeks) I was in my second trimester and so happy to be over the nausea stage. So let me update you what's happened in the last 10 weeks:)

Since 20 weeks I feel baby sis everyday and in the last few day she given me some , how I like to call them "hey mom I'm here, I'm here" *hard kicks* "okay just making sure you can feel my movements" haha. She loved hiccuping and loves moving especially at night when momma is trying to get some sleep. I've also recently entered the uncomfortable to sleep phase of pregnancy and I'm sure for the next 10 weeks or more (after she arrives) sleep will be a faded memory haha. I switch sides so much, I'm pretty sure I never did this much tossing and turning when I was pregnant with Mason.
(me at 28 weeks)

As for symptoms I've been feeling, I feel like the only two are almost everyday acid reflex (tums are my bestie) and frequent urination! Speaking of that haha, if you follow me on Instagram you know I had a little water breaking scare. It's embarrassing so I will make it short and sweet haha. I was in the kitchen and I sneezed and all of a sudden this good amount of liquid plops of the kitchen floor and I mean plops.... soon after I had noticed my hips were feeling uncomfortable (maybe I also thought that it was just a pregnancy symptom) I call my obgyn and they told me to monitor myself and just make sure I wasn't leaking more fluid...anyways time passed and nothing happened... turns out it wasn't my water breaking but something else..which you probably could guess what that was haha. Ah man it was truly an embarrassing pregnancy moment that happens to a lot of preggo mommas haha, so yeah that little scare was fun.

As for cravings, I've been craving avocado quesdilla burritos. If you've been around since mason's pregnancy then you would know that avocado, I, and mason didn't agree. Even when I got out of the nausea phase with mason and I had the tiniest amount of avocado I would immediately be sick. So since finding out that girly is totally fine with me eating avocado, I have it for lunch almost everyday! It's so good and probably gross to a lot of you but hey it's my craving. I have also been loving a bowl of cereal as my treat...yummmmyyy!!

I haven't felt that many charlie horses so far (knock on wood) so that's a plus! Baby girl is doing great, she is healthy and her heart rate is good! I did also take my glucose test and PASSED IT, woo hoo! I was a 99, but I am a little anemic so I will have to take iron supplements until baby girl is born.

I also had a baby sprinkle a couple of weeks ago and it was honestly just so fun relaxing and spending time with people who already love baby so much! We got so many cute girly item that I just can't wait to put her in , so thank you to all that came!! Mason even got to practice his future brother duties and a couple of babies that spent the weekend with us, it was soo fun and cute seeing his interaction with them and went they went somewhere he would ask "where are my babies" lol super cute, so it definitely made me more at ease that having a sibling may just be smooth (hopefully..crossing fingers haha)

Now that it's the month of April here's what will be happening... We will be painting sister's room, spring cleaning, organizing mason's closet (where her clothes and items will be until mason moves into his new room) , planting strawberries and flowers around the home, and at the very last week of April I will be packing my hospital bag(you'll be seeing a video of what will be in it as well) ! There's so many exciting things happening in the next couple of months and also my first and OG baby mason is turning 3 also! We can't wait for you all to continue on this exciting journey of us growing our family and can't wait to share more!

My current make up favorites/routine

The world of make up is so much fun to me! The different shades, the new techniques to use, the new products, the amazing dupes, and of course the magic it can do like cover those dark hug circles with concealer and make you look well rested! I am subscribed to a handful of beauty guru's on Youtube and Instagram that I love following because that is really where I get basically all of my make up or beauty recommendations. So if your a makeup addict or lover like I am, I wanted to share my current favorite make up products that I use and my makeup routine! So let's get started!

I always moisturize my face first with Clinque's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion it just leaves my skin so soft and smooth and my face feels hydrated all day, I love it! I've been using this since high school and will probably use this my whole life lol.

Then I start with Liquid Foundation. In all honesty I don't really have one that I've been using for years. I think foundation is one of those makeup products that I just love trying different ones and if its affordable and I just happen to see it first at the store I buy it haha. So as of a couples months I've been using Loreal True Match Lumi in the shade nude beige. My mom was actually the one who gifted this to me and I have loved it since! I feel like it gives great coverage, doesn't make you look cakey and lasts basically all day . It's my current favorite foundation and only costs $7.79 (at Target)

Just like foundation, I switch between concealers, not because I can't find the right one but because I love trying new brands. What I've been loving recently is Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Concealer in the shade Fair or Ivory depending on the season. This is one of my magic items that truly does what it suppose to do and truly hides those blemishes and dark circles, and as a momma it's considered a holy grail item; if you hide how tired you look/are. One item that I've been using for years and years is BareMinerals Original Foundation in the shade Light 08. The powder foundation is so light and you truly feel like your wearing nothing! It stays on the whole day and even though it $22 it lasts several months and is definitely worth the price!

Eye shadow palettes I think are almost the most funnest part of a makeup routine! They're literally hundreds of different shades and you can really make one heck of a creative beauty eye look. I tend to stick to more neutral palettes, so as of right now I've been loving is NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette  in the Warm Neutrals Palette. It has the perfect mix of light shades and dark shades to create the perfect smokey look! And right now its on sell for $13 instead of $18!

My highlighter that I love love love using is  Aspyn Ovard's Collab with Pixi by Petra Powder Highlighter ! This has lasted me such a long time and pretty sure I'm never switching because its gives the perfect amount of shine to make your skin look beautifully glowy and radiant!  As for my Blush I'm loving Milani Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso. I love this shade because it really add the perfect amount of shade to your cheeks and adds such a pretty shade of pink!
I then use Maybelline's Eye Studio Master Precise Eyeliner in Black and then for my mascara I use Rimmel London's ScandalEyes Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black, and its only $5.49!
Now last but not least if I remember I finish my look with E.L.F Mist & Set spray which helps keep everything in place and another reason why I love using it is that it wakes me up!

I change my make up look/routine every couple of months and love love love finding out about new makeup products! So if you have any recommendation on products or brands you love using that comment below! I love these kind of posts and really plan on doing more, so stay tuned, and happy weekend!

Vally

4 Activities to do with your toddler Indoors

Ever since mason started walking he's been an energetic busy busy boy haha. He loves to run, jump, dance, climb, you name it, this kid has the energy for it haha. I always loved personally being a busy person.  Don't get me wrong there are times when I want to stay home like just having a baby, our family being sick, or having morning sickness. But I always try to make a goal of leaving the house at least once a day. And since becoming a mother, I want that goal to be set to my kids or at least try you know. So during the summer that's no problem at all. We have days filled with going on walks, going to the park, mason having swimming lessons, or us just relaxing outside in the backyard. But I bet many of you agree that it can be hard to keep those little active kids some what entertained when its cold/snowing/raining outside or you just don't feel like leaving the house am I right? So I complied a list of activities to do with your (toddler aged kid) indoors that will surely entertain them in educational and fun ways! Also keep reading until the end to hear about a favorite item I share from a favorite brand of mine!

1) Hidden Figures Sandbox

I got these little buckets of colorful sand last summer at Target's dollar section for $3 and I immediately had to buy them because I knew that they would fun to use one day. All you have to do is grab yourself a bucket or container and fill it with any sand like material you want. I got this clear container at the dollar store and filled it with little dinosaur figures and mix them with the sand. The buckets of colorful sand I had bought came with molds so that was a great plus to add. Mason was a little unsure of the texture but eventually liked finding the figures and making molds of the sand. You can buy the sand at Target, Walmart, or any craft store. Such a fun activity for both indoors and outdoors to make your child feel like their at the beach exploring for new treasure!

2) Sponge shape Artwork

I honestly think this was Mason's favorite activity just because the large amount of artwork he made! I had bought an assortment of different color washable paints when mason was little that knew I would use them in the future at Target for such a great price. You can buy washable  kid safe paints really anywhere. We then bought a canvas at the dollar spot and used regular printing paper in case mason wanted more. I also bought a different assortment pack of sponges that I believe are meant to be used for art work at Walmart and then  a 4 pack (different colors) regular dish washing sponges at the dollar store. I cut the pack from the dollar store into a different variety of shapes
and filled a disposable muffin tin (also bought at the dollar store) with paint in each spot. I then added the stick sponges to the paint and laid out the sponges next to the canvas/paper. Mason had a blast and loved playing with paint. Now since this is paint though washable, it can get messy, so I definitely suggest putting newspaper around your artwork space (definitely wished I had done that haha)! It's a great way for the kids to learn about colors, shapes, and expand their creativity. We loved it!!

3) Colorful Cloud

I almost feel like this was a little science activity in some way, just because of how cool it was an how I never would of thought to do this myself haha. So all you need it 1/2 cup water or fill half of your medium/large container with water. You will need a clean bowl or cup in order to see the magic happen. Then grab yourself shaving cream (got mine at the dollar store) and will need either an eye dropper or like us we used a medicine syringe. I also cut the bottom of plastic bottles to create mini cups to use for our different colored water. We added 4 drops of food coloring to our little cups of water and added a good amount of shaving cream to the top of the water (forming it to a cloud like shape) of our large clear cup/bowl/container. And that's basically it, everything is simple from there. Just fill your dropper with the colored water and empty the dropper on top of the shaving cream and watch the colored water melt into the shaving cream and slowly go down into the water! It's such a cool experience for your kids to watch the colors mix and in an artistic way melt into the water slowly. It's honestly can be very beautiful too!

4) Coloring Snow
Now if your like us we live in a state where we get snow during winter. This was the easiest and hardly spent anything on this activity! All you will need is snow, a clear container, paint brushes, a small amount of water  and of course paint. I used plastic cups to use for my colored water. I added a good amount of paint to the bottom of the cups and added water. Remember the less water you add the stronger and more variant the colored water will be. And that's about it. Let them dip the paint brushes into the colored water and watch them make a blank white snow into a colorful work of art! Luckily this time I remembered to put down newspaper around our work space! Mason loved it and so did momma!

Mason spent so much time doing everyone of these fun activities and loved explaining what he was doing and sharing with me what he was learning like his colors, shapes, and especially loved showing off his artwork! There's so many other activities you can do with your kids indoors and it doesn't even  need to be a big activity , because one of the things I've learned about being a mother is that kids can be entertained by the smallest things. Find more activities on the web or pinterest and be sure to tell me your favorite activities to do indoors with your kids/toddlers! Hope to share more ideas/favorites in the future!

Oh also! See that cute sweater I'm wearing. Yep I'm in love with it and sooo perfect for this time of the year! You've probably heard of me share about Pink Blush. No? Well let me tell you how much I love their clothing! They have both maternity and non-maternity clothing and have such incredible prices! You truly can find every piece of item that you would want to include in your wardrobe! Their clothes are so comfy and their customer service is nothing short of great! I linked this cute top (that was bump friendly too) and linked their website so you can shop until you dropped, your welcome :) haha.

Choosing the right toothbrush for you!

Anyone else have a fear of the dentist, no? Well hey good for you, honestly! I wish I didn't feel nervous every time I went to the dentist office. It's the drilling that gets me tense! If I could I would avoid it.. but I also like to have my teeth healthy and clean, so when my orthodontist recommended me to switch for a regular tooth brush to an electric tooth brush because they are better for you for several reasons! I then knew I had to get my hands on one fast, especially because it is even more recommended for those who are pregnant to keep their teeth extra clean!

So when I heard about Smile Brilliant a family-owned company that has set out to provide professional quality teeth whitening; and now has recently released their first electric toothbrush, I was quickly impressed by its features (that I've never seen on any others, like my husbands electric toothbrush) and had to get my hands on one!

I must admit that it's hard to picture a regular old toothbrush really taking care of your teeth and doing great work. But with the Smile Brilliant, it basically does the work for you! You have 5 modes to choose from such as: clean, white, massage, gum care, and sensitive. So whichever your needing your teeth to be improved on, you have several options to choose from. Again it really does the work for you! Other amazing facts about the cariPRO electric toothbrush is that it has is a 30 day battery life (fully charged), its waterproof meaning you can most certainly take a shower and brush your teeth at the same time! Hello multi-tasking!! They also have a wireless charging dock, which I think it's super cool because I've never seen that before. It even has an auto-interval timer for even & timed brushing, which is another great feature I love because I and I think other people certainly don't really know how long to brush. It's like your little friend that reminds you and wants to make sure your well taken care of..well at least your teeth are haha.

In my package I received the individual package that includes the ultrasonic toothbrush + 2 replacements + wireless charging dock, but that's not all. You can also choose from their deluxe package which has the same items but has 4 replacements or you can also choose from the couples package that has 2 cariPRO electronic brushes, 4 electric toothbrush heads and 2 charging docks.  It also comes with an instruction manual. You also get a 2 year warranty..plus their customer service is amazing! Did I mention that Smile Brilliant's cariPRO is also AFFORDABLE!! So don't even bother worrying about the cost because let me tell you, they beat other electric tooth brushes!

As someone who has never used an electronic tooth brush I saw a major change in my teeth.  I've used my cariPRO for almost 2 months already and they feel cleaner, whiter, and less sensitive! I literally have thrown my toothbrushes away because I can't picture going back! Even my husband was impressed by their toothbrush and can't wait to get his hands on his own lol. As a mom who is always on the go-go with her toddler and currently expecting, it's sometimes difficult to find the time to really put all your attention into your teeth, but even the couple of times that I've done a quick brushing, my teeth still feel amazing!

I almost feel like my whole view on oral health has spiked and changed! I mean we brush our teeth every day twice a day and mason does too but the cariPRO has changed the way I brush my teeth and I am so happy about the experience I've had so far! I even can't wait for my next dentist appointment (did I just say that haha?) so my orthodontist can tell me how great my teeth look and that he's also seen a difference from switching to an electronic toothbrush! Thank you cariPRO for really changing my teeth!

If you want to read more info about the cariPro and Smile Brilliants other products, visit their website down below! I promise you'll love it!

Half Way There- Baby Girl Update!!

I've been a little MIA lately and there's a great reason for it! If you follow me on social media you may have seen that we announced we were pregnant in November and our baby was due in June 2019! We had been trying for almost a year (11 months) . It was hard for me to talk about it with others because I knew others had tried longer, but a friend had told me that It was still okay for me to be sad ..so and after 3 rounds of chlomid we got pregnant!

We are and still overjoyed about having another child and especially excited to see mason become a big brother!!  I found out I was pregnant on the exact date I found out I was pregnant with Mason (October 1st) and if you cant believe it like I couldn't, baby will be born not too many day after masons birthday; haha I'm hoping they don't share a birthday. Then in December we found out we are having  GIRL!! I was hoping for a boy for mason but also very  excited to have one of each, and if I'm being totally honest, I've already bought baby girl clothes and I'm just obsessing about all baby
girl items!

My first trimester was rough, and if you have followed me since mason's pregnancy, then you know that I also had nausea and it was bad, but guys this pregnancy has been worse when it comes to nausea. I wasn't able to hold anything down and even worse I couldn't hold down liquid. I had days where I was very dehydrated, weak, and the toilet was my best friend (unfortunately) . I didn't want to take a chance and almost black out like I did with mason, so I called my doctor and they prescribed me a heavier nausea medication. That helped so much and I was able to hold down meals and got some energy back which was AMAZING! I literally pretty much just ate toast, apple sauce, and ginger ale the entire first trimester. But now that I'm halfway into my pregnancy, I am feeling loads better and so relieved to be out of the first trimester!

Now unto second trimester (so far) update. I started feeling baby girl at 14 weeks and several movements from then to 17ish weeks, then the movements got less frequent, and I was starting to worry a little. I also knew that I wasn't laying down as much or really paying attention to the movements because I also have a toddler who needs my attention so I didn't have as much down time like I did with mason's pregnancy. I am currently 20 weeks and a half and this past weekend when I was still getting worried of not feeling her much, her movements became more noticeable!!  Shes more active at night and when I eat and it's the best feeling! I can't wait for her movements to become more stronger, more frequent, and more noticeable! Since getting my hunger back I've been craving grilled cheese, cereal, and fruit (strawberry being my favorite)! I have had a couple of days of gas pain at night so with the help of a little diet change and gasX, that seems to have disappeared!

My lack of sleep as also gone up, I wake up every day at 4/5 and then stay up until 6/7 and fall asleep for one more hour until mason wakes up! Speaking of our precious mason, he has also become potty trained and is now sleeping in a big boy bed! He's becoming such a big boy! I also had my 20 week (anatomy scan) and got to see baby girl! I seriously think ultrasounds are one of my favorite things about being pregnant, I just love seeing their little face, hands, feet, and seeing them wiggle around in momma's tummy!

We are also so happy to know and see that baby girl is healthy and doing great! We're already calling her our little dancing princess, because she was a wiggle worm in my belly! We couldn't be more grateful that she's healthy! I also found out that I have an anterior placenta, which means my placenta is located in the front of my stomach rather than the back, which also means that I won't feel babies kicks has strong. I will also most likely feel baby more of my sides or down low. I have felt her but I'm so glad to know its because of my placenta that her movements aren't as strong or noticeable right now. Eventually I will soon  (probably within the next few days) be feeling her movements everyday and with a pattern. We couldn't be more in love with baby sis and so glad we got to see her today!

We honestly can't to meet her and give her unlimited amounts of kisses and cuddles. Mason has already started to touch my stomach, give hugs and kisses to my belly and even asked when "name of baby" was coming out haha. We can already tell how excited he is to meet his sister and gain a new best friend! Stay tuned on my Instagram to see more updates, and I'll post another update once the third trimester starts in March! We're also excited for you to join us again on another wonderful journey were on to grow our family!

Until next time!

xoxo,
Valentina
