Smithfield Fresh Pork-Parmesan Crusted Pork Chop Recipe

“Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Smithfield® Prime Fresh Pork. The opinions and text are all mine.”

Happy Hump day friends, can you believe this week is almost over, I know I sure can’t and that summer is also halfway over! Where are all my pork lovers out there?! I have a special recipe for all of you! Not a pork lover or questioning eating pork? Let me just tell you this, “Not all pork is created equal!”

Even though fall and winter are my favorite seasons, I must say that I love the food that comes with the summer months. There’s something about having a picnic, seeing clear skies, and of course those yummy and festive bbq parties that I just love! I think my favorite recipes that I love to cook are the ones that end up being fast and easy, because we all know that no one likes to clean a messy kitchen or dishes.

So let me tell about a easier way of cooking that can help you enjoy those beautiful summer days while you’re with family and friends! I headed to my local Dan’s Fresh Market, and I’ve never shopped there and I must say that the experience was one to remember. I was greeted in the store, helped out in the meat section, and even had a friendly employee greet me, my son, and husband at checkout. I was able to find items quickly and loved all the options Smithfield® had for me!

If you are not near a Dan’s Fresh Market, you can also find this at any Associated Food Grocer. Fresh Market, Maceys, & Lins all carry this product

In my today’s recipe I used Smithfield Prime Fresh Pork to make a delicious Parmesan Crusted Pork Chop! This was my very first time ever cooking pork chops, and to be honest I was a little nervous because I have bad luck cooking meat; I don’t know why I just sometimes overcook it or end up under cooking it. But let me just tell you that the meat god’s were in my favor this time around and read through to find out how it came out! First let’s start out with the ingredients you will be needing.

Ingredients:
  • 4 Smithfield Prime Fresh Pork Chops
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (you can use vegetable oil)
  • 2-3 tbsp Italian Breadcrumbs
  • ⅓ Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • ⅛ paprika
  • ⅛ basil
  • Salt and pepper to your taste

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Take out a medium frying pan or skillet and on medium heat pour your olive oil and allow it to heat until you see smoke rising. In a separate mixing bowl mix together what will become your crust for your pork chops, which will be garlic powder, Italian bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, paprika, basil, and salt and pepper.

Mix ingredients together. Take pork chops out of packaging and dip each piece into your crust mix, if you think your crust isn’t sticking to your pork feel free to smear some water or oil on it. Once pan is hot and ready, add your pork, making sure you let it sear on both sides for a total of 3 minutes. You should see that your pork is starting to turn golden brown, so that all those yummy juices soak in your meat.

Hoping your oven is ready to go, using a small deep dish place your pork chops in it for a total of 30 minutes, but also note that it  depends on how thick your pork chops are.It can take longer for thicker pieces. So let’s bring back the meat gods haha, you guys they turned out perfectly, juicy, and delicious!! We ended up eating with family and left the curtains open, letting the beautiful sunset colors fill the home. It truly was a miracle that they came out so perfectly, I mean no shocker there to such a great meat brand! I’m excited for you all to try this and please let me know in the comments if you do!

Summer Beauty Favorites

I was just talking to Rex the other day about how summer is already half over, is it bad of me to say that I'm totally ok with that. Haha I've always been a fall/winter kind of gal but I am loving the summer beauty products I've been using this summer. I've been using so many new products this year (trying to switch my routine). Most of these products I found out from bloggers, my ipsy bags, and of course you guys, so thank you so much for all your recommendations! So let's hope right in!

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Compact , this came in my Ipsy bag as a full sized item and I was soo happy not only because I've never tried an Estee Lauder product but because I've heard so much great things about this product! So creamy and has great coverage, I have found my newest foundation obsession! 2. Benefit Roller Lash I believe I got this for my birthday this year and it came as a mini size but I love trying different mascaras and this one packs so much volume for your lashes, I love it! 3. Dove Refresh Dry Shampoo , so ever since I heard of dry shampoo I've always wanted to try it and I tried Batiste and didn't really love it, I think it was because it sprayed and came out too gray, I dont know maybe I didn't spray right ahha but this one when it spray it doesn't come off gray on my hair and it keeps my hair refreshed and smelling good, leaving it like I washed it. But seriously where would we be without dry shampoo, the thing is gold in a bottle! 4. Too Faced Natural Love Eye Shadow Palette, guys this stuff is amazing not only are the colors colors that you can use for an everyday look but this palette is super pigmented (like all their stuff) but this is a definite must in your beauty collection! 5. Pixi with Aspyn Ovard Highlighter, I have also recently started using highlighter and it truly is a came changer! This came in a swag I received from a fellow blogger friend and I already follow Aspyn on her Youtube channel, and when I heard she was collaborating with Pixi I was beyond excited. So of course you can imagine my excitement when this came in my swag bag! The color of this is perfect, its pigmented, and looks amazing on your skin, seriously a 10 out of 10 for me, I love it!

6. Tubby Todd Tropics Summer Bundle, I know I know you've heard me rave about this company but guess I can't get enough of their scents and their products! I think the reason why I love it because it works for all skin types, helps with several different things, and everyone in the family can use it! They just released their summer tropics collection and these scents are to die for! Maybe not literally but they smell like you're in Hawaii and for me that's the kid of lotion I want! 7. Elf Mist & Set Spray, another new item I have added into my makeup routine is a set spray. Because this is a entirely new item for me, I didn't want to spend a much of money on one, so I put my trust to elf cosmetics where they sell it for $3 and it I'm loving mine! It leaves my makeup all day and also gives me a refreshing mist for these hot summer days. 8NYC Sun n' Bronze Bronzer, this is also my very first bronzer I ever got, and it truly lives up the their product name, your skin truly has a beautiful sunny touch and gives you a light tan look to your face, I love it! 9. Last but not least Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, Dark Circle Concealor, I discovered this from a blogger friend and I've used elf or a different brand for concealer but none have worked and covered up dark circles or imperfections like this one has, I mean its affordable and does exactly what it says it does, I don't think I'll ever switch to a different concealer, this stuff is amazing!

Well thank you so much for reading my summer favorite beauty list, If you have one of these products let me know which one and if you've just bought one of these items also let me know! I would love to hear from you! Until next time
xoxo

Growing Little Minds with Bookaroo

Remember how I posted several months ago about the importance of reading to your child and us striving to read mason a book every night, well I decided to tell you about a company called, "Bookroo", that I recently found out about to share you their company, their message, and to keep sharing the importance of reading to our child.

Bookroo is a monthly children's book subscription Club for kids. They are adorably wrapped with fun wrapping prints and filled with different books designed specially for you little(s). You pick what type of book fits your child, either Board Books (for ages 0-2); includes 3 books per box or Picture Books (for ages 2-6); includes 2 books per box. You can also choose what your subscription box to come, from monthly, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.

These books are truly unique, you wont find them at stores or online, and that's one of the reasons why I love it so much, because their unique and who doesn't love that?! We both share the same mission and that is to build our book collection for our kids, that it's never early to start reading with them, and that reading can be fun; and of course that it be delivered to you and be inexpensive!

Mason loved unwrapping each book because they were a present to him and unwrapping anything is always exciting! He instantly knew what it was and loved looking at each book! We immediately started peeping at each page and seeing the new characters, letters, and numbers we were about to dig our minds into! We got books with numbers, textures, and even little animal friends. I think that out of all the books, the number book was his ultimate favorite because he loved lifting the flap. If your'e interested in subscribing and getting fun unique books, I highly recommend Bookroo, and don't forget to use code: "RICHES" to receive 15% off your order!

StoryBrook Play Cafe and Boutique Review

Ever wish you could find a place where you can sit in a nice air conditioned area, drink a fruity smoothie and have your kids be entertained all while you see them from where your drinking that nice smoothie?? I know the places of having all of that are quite limited but let me tell you about a wonderful place where that exists and us parents may even call it "magical'!

Storybrook is located on 1538 E 3300 S, Salt Lake city  and as you walk in you, you and your little one(s) are greeted and introduced. The entrance fee is ONLY $6 and if you child isn't wearing any socks you pay just a small fee to purchase a pair. You quickly sign a waiver and your all ready to have some fun, and don't worry mom that means for you too! As you come in you will see on your left their boutique where they sell clothes, accessories, and fun little toys as well!

Mason was in Ah as to the unlimited amount of toys and structures around us! First we played with Fruit Market area, then we poked our little heads into the houses they had, each one with different designs! Can I just say I may have missed being a child again, but I loved seeing Mason play with all the different toys.

After passing the first half of the play area, mason caught a glimpse to a ball pit, and that was it guys, that was his all time favorite area to be in, and as you can tell by the photo, he had a BLAST! We probably spent a good 20 minutes in there haha. I had to go upstairs to see what their cafe menu offered and mason didn't mind one bit, because he could see me and I could see him as he played and I look at their menu. Before I knew it mason was interested in what mom was doing and so he joined me upstairs.. We ordered a Strawberry Smoothie and shared a chunky chocolate chip cookie. He was such a happy little boy, I mean wouldn't you be?!

Not only do they have a cafe and a play area  but also a set of comfy couches where us parents can hang and watch our little ones without wondering where their going and not being able to see them. They also have party packages where you don't need to pay a bunch of money on decorations and spend time setting up everything for their birthday party, they will do it for you! They have different themed packages and have special guests that can also attend your child's birthday, like princesses and much more!

The fun doesn't stop there, they also have camps you can enroll your kids into and if you want to see more of their boutique, there's much more on their site! Mason and I had a blast and its perfect for anytime of the year and you can relax, eat a snack, and watch your kid(s) have the time of their life! And because I appreciate and am grateful for all of you, I got you a little code you can use for their online boutique, classes and camps. Just use code "Valentina" for 25% off your next purchase!

I also linked their website right here ---> Storybrook PlayCafe , and I highly recommend visiting them you wont regret it!
