The King of Rice (Review)

Ever have that one dish or reciepe that you can't ever seem to perfect? That no matter how much you follow the directions, it just never turns out right?  While I'm no Julia Child just yet, I love cooking, and if I can find or make something that is easy and fast then you best believe this future chef will be happy!

Let's talk about rice, several different types of it right? It's delicious, its light and filling, and seems easy to make right? No! Some of us like your's truly just suck at making rice haha.. really it shouldn't be this difficult. So I result to buying those little microwavable rice bags, and man are they way much easier! And up to now I haven't found a company that has a large variety of rice flavors, and guys I found it.. I found the pot of gold of rice flavors and you're all going to love it!

Let me introduce you to VeeTee , the home of dry & microwavable rice! Established in 1987 by Moni Varma. She was influenced by family owned rice farms in India to set up VeeTee in London and sell their rice to all of the UK. Not only do they carry their rice with such importance, but they also give back. They started a seed project, this involves seed distribution and a buy-back arrangement with local farmers.



They truly have all the yummy rice flavors you could ever think of! With classic like Basmati, Long Grain, Thai Jasmine, and Spicy Spanish rice they also have other delicious flavors like Chicken Flavored, Thai Lime and Herb, Whole Grain and Quinoa (my personal favorite) and Rice Pilaf.  Don't these all sound amazing!! Just imagine all the recipes that can go with these flavored rices! Every one of them was truly delicious; but I have put together two of my favorite recipes using certain rice from VeeTee.


Recipe #1
Turkey Smoked Sausage with Whole Grain Rice
This is one of my all time favorite recipes, because its fast to make! I cut the sausage into slices and season it with Italian Seasoning  and add olive oil to a medium heated pan. I let them cook for 5-7 minutes until they are a golden brown and that's honestly it! I put the turkey sausage on top of the whole grain rice and I add a side of veggies, like brocolli, and that's it! Enjoy!


Recipe #2
Chicken Fried Rice using Basmati Rice
I started off seasoning the chicken with salt and pepper and then by chopping the chicken into small cuts and added them to a medium heated pan. I wait until they turn golden brown, during this I cook my rice for two minutes in the microwave (using basmati rice) once the chicken is cooked, I add the rice to the pan with the chicken and then we start flavoring everything. I added 1 teaspoon of teryaki sauce, 1Tsp of less sodium soy sauce, and 1 Tsp of sesame sauce. As my last step I add half a cup of mixed veggies. I mixed it all together and the dish is done! I sometimes loved adding 1-2 eggs!

There are my two recipes, they truly are my top go to dishes to make when this momma is a little too busy! I love that I don't have to worry about making sides anymore or stressing about making rice and that in just two minutes it would be ready! VeeTee is truly for everyone!
